Welcome to the Larocque Files

Hello and welcome to the LaRocque Files. My name is Joey LaRocque. This will be a column where I bring up current events and maybe start some rumors in Slam All-Star Wrestling!
August 20th 2006
Fallout from “August Extravaganza!”

DRAKE EVANS RETAINS HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE! “Bad Religion” Maxx Burton and Drake Evans fought in a brutal 2 out of 3 fall contest. The first fall, which was Fall Count Anywhere, went to Burton who won with an inside cradle roll up. The second fall, Submission Match, went to Evans when Burton tapped to the Modified Sharpshooter. The third fall was Last Man Standing, where after a pin fall a wrestler had to answer a 10 count, saw Evans hit the Tiger Driver for a pin but Burton who got up at 8. Maxx would get the DDT on Evans for a pin and Evans would get up at 9. Both men would trade off some more until Burton hit a Tombstone Piledriver for a pin. At the count of 7, Evans was showing no signs of life. The end seemed near until Big Vigo came out and blasted the referee from behind. This led to Vigo pummeling Burton until Maxx hit a stunner on Vigo. Evans would get Burton down and both he and Vigo hit a Spike Tiger Driver on a steel chair. Vigo pushed the ref back into the ring, the 3 went down and Burton was not able to answer the 10 count. Evans had retained the title. But I’m sure this is not the end.

NEW S.A.W. TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Shane Alden and Virus, with Barbie, collectively known as HEAT, gained victory over Divine Diversity to win the belts. The Bull was going into the match with a broken hand, but was determined to defend the coveted belts. HEAT would not win without controversy, but the end result was the same. No word on whether Bull sustained anymore damage to his hand.

NEW S.A.W. CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION! Angel defeated long time title holder Nocturne to win the belt in a fantastic match up. Angel had been working his way up the ranks as of late and gave everything he had in this one to come out on top. Nocturne has said you have not seen the last of him. He might be looking to break out of the Cruiserweight division as he has found success in other promotions outside that arena.

FRANZ RODDY STILL UNDEFEATED and TV CHAMPION! The “Flexer on a Pole Match” showcased both Michael Monroe and Franz Roddy’s abilities in the ring. After countless attempts at grabbing the flexer, Roddy would gain victory and retain the title. Not sure if Monroe will be getting another shot at the Television title.

S.A.W. WOMEN’S TITLE HELD UP! During the incredible “Bunkhouse Brawl” between champion, Alexzandra and challenger, Demonica, the ladies used everything that wasn’t bolted down on each other. Metal pans, crutches, paddles, whips, handcuffs and a bullrope with cowbell. Also during the match, the referee found himself handcuffed to the bottom rope while trying to stop both ladies from handcuffing each other. In the end, groggy, both ladies would hit each other at the same time with objects knocking themselves out. Demonica landed first and Alexzandra landed right next to her. Both ladies arms were covering each other which prompted the ref to count 3 on both women. The referee grabbed the mic and stated since both ladies were pinned, the match was a draw and the title was held up.

We have received official word from the Championship Committee that the title is indeed held up and there are no plans to bring the title back at this time. Neither Demonica or Alexzandra could be reached for comment.

MISS MONTGOMERY DEBUTS IN RING! The former cheerleading squad of 1 showed what she can do in an intergender match as she teamed with Lenn Oddity against Mackie Schrody and Barbie. Schrody was relentless with his assault on Oddity. Lenn would gain some advantage which led to the tag to the ladies. Montgomery took quick control on Barbie, but the more experienced battler stopped the young rookies offense quick. In the end, while the ladies took the fight to floor, along with the referee, Schrody continuously beat on Oddity with a Kendo stick and hit his finisher for the 3. Miss Montgomery has put out the challenge to Barbie for a 1 on 1 matchup. Word is that Barbie has accepted the match.

Overall a great night of wrestling action. The next event is Saturday September 9th at the Highgate Sports Arena where S.A.W. will present the “September Super Show!” S.A.W. will also celebrate it’s third year anniversary as the most consistently run promotion in Vermont.

That’s all for now, this is Joey LaRocque reporting!
